Fixitupforless.com is a one stop shop for contracting and home improvement services. The site is the result of the historic & calamitous real estate and construction contraction of 2007-2009. Founder, Arthur Rosen, a builder and developer for over 21 years, received a degree in Economics from Kalamazoo College (Kalamazoo, MI) .He always was fascinated with market dynamics; the differences in real estate and labor prices between areas (his companies worked in two states, Michigan and Ohio). The great contraction, although national, affected some areas more than others. All around were "top notch" contractors searching for work - any work, at any price. Most tried to stay local but some ventured to other areas. Many whom he knew were forced to leave their families and homes (which they couldn't sell) hoping for work they didn't even know existed. The contractors knew little about the job prospects nor the pricing in areas into which ventured. While they searched, home improvement projects in communities unknown to them were being completed at relatively (and many times, significantly) higher prices. The challenge thus became how to help excellent contractors identify inflated markets and projects so that they could offer their services to homeowners at significant savings. The Internet provides the vehicle. Fixitupforless.com levels the playing field to benefit both member contractors and home improvement customers, who can save up to 30% on their projects.
